So you finally got the call you have been waiting for. After scanning hundreds of jobs ads and submitting application after application, a Recruiter finally contacted you! The job interview has been booked.
The job interview is where you get your shot at closing the deal… moving from prospect to employee. You did all the important things:
- Resume is in order, printed and in hand
- You put on your best suit
- Reviewed all the questions you believe the Recruiter will ask
- Have all the right answers at the top of your head
Then the Recruiter turns to you and says “Do you have any questions for me?” A deadly silence looms over what would have been an awesome interview.
Work is where most people spend the majority of their time throughout life and it is a two way street. Get in the habit of researching the company and asking questions during your interview, to be sure it is somewhere you want to invest your time in.

12. How do I compare with the other candidates you’ve interviewed for this role?
13. What are the next steps in the interview process?
14. May I contact you if I have any further questions?
This is your introduction to the company and the best opportunity to not just present yourself, but to gain valuable information you could not get anywhere else. Use this time to develop an open dialogue with a potential colleague, build rapport and create a lasting impression.
